There’s something truly special about spring weddings - that feeling of new beginnings, longer days, and bursts of colour everywhere you look. Laura and Mark’s wedding at The Chequers Inn in Woolsthorpe this May was the perfect example of everything we love about the season; laughter, pure joy, and a room full of love.
As a Yorkshire and Midlands wedding photographer, I’ve been lucky to capture many beautiful celebrations, but this one had such a wonderfully fun and relaxed vibe from start to finish. Laura and Mark surrounded themselves with their closest friends and family, filling every part of the day with their love and warmth.

A Pop of Pastel Colour
The bridesmaids looked absolutely stunning in a mix of pastel coloured dresses - from soft peaches to muted mint tones (including a two piece suit!) creating a gorgeous palette that perfectly reflected the bright and cheerful spring day. Not to forget to mention that Laura looked stunning in her gorgeous bridal gown!

Personal Touches (and a Cat Cameo!)
One of my favourite details from their day had to be their cat’s surprise appearance - not in person but as the sweetest ceramic cake decorations on their wedding cake. It was such a thoughtful nod to their life together at home and brought smiles to everyone’s faces.
The Chequers Inn Woolsthorpe provided the perfect backdrop for their celebration - a charming, rustic setting full of character, ideal for couples looking for that relaxed countryside feel. As someone who works with Midlands & Yorkshire wedding suppliers, I can’t recommend this venue and its wonderful team enough for making the day run so smoothly.

Emotional Speeches & Dancefloor Magic
The speeches had everyone reaching for tissues - heartfelt words from family and friends that beautifully captured Laura and Mark’s story. But once the formalities were done, it was straight onto the dancefloor! And honestly, there’s no better way to end a wedding than with the Macarena (obviously!) everyone joining in and dancing the night away. It was the perfect finale to a perfect day.

If you’re planning your own celebration and looking for a Yorkshire wedding photographer or a Midlands wedding photographer who loves capturing colourful, joy-filled moments, I’d love to hear from you. Laura and Mark’s day was a reminder that weddings don’t have to follow any rules - just fill them with love, laughter and a few personal touches that make your story yours.
