Amy and Matt got married last August at the beautiful Oaklands The Grande Lodge and their wedding day was a perfect mix of relaxed moments, meaningful details, and genuine emotion.

From start to finish, it was one of those days that felt completely true to them.

Morning Preparations at Kipling House Barn

Rather than getting ready at the wedding venue, Amy and Matt chose to start their day at Kipling House Barn, which set such a calm and intimate tone for the morning. The space was perfect for relaxed preparations and meant all of their closest friends and family could get ready together.

Amy got ready surrounded by her closest people, with lots of laughter, quiet excitement, and an excellent bridal prep morning playlist. Matt and his groomsmen were equally laid back, clearly enjoying the build up to the day ahead.

A Timeless Colour Palette

The colour scheme for the day was a beautiful mix of pastel and powder blues, which worked perfectly with the elegant surroundings of Oaklands The Grand Lodge. From the flowers to the smaller styling details, everything felt soft, timeless, and effortlessly put together.

A Heartfelt Ceremony at Oaklands The Grand Lodge

Amy and Matt’s ceremony was emotional, personal, and full of genuine connection. There were so many meaningful glances and reactions from their guests - the kind of moments that make wedding photography so special.

August is such a beautiful time of year for weddings, and the grounds at Oaklands were looking incredible. We took some relaxed couple portraits using the soft, early evening summer light - just Amy and Matt enjoying a quiet moment together. The setting at Oaklands looks especially stunning during golden hour.

A Truly Unforgettable First Dance

One of the most memorable moments of the day came during the evening celebrations. Matt had written and recorded their first dance song especially for Amy, which was played over a montage of images on screen for their guests.

It was such a personal and emotional moment, a perfect example of making your day unique to you.
